The department has in the 50 years participated in the training and qualification for more than 5000 doctors who have established careers both locally and internationally
PHYSICIAN MMED TRAINING
Over 400 Physicians have been received their MMED training through our program and many have got ahead to further subspecialise in various fields of internal medicine. Most have become leaders in their field of study and have contributed to research an policy
FELLOWSHIP TRAINING
So far 2 fellowship programs have been pioneered by the department.ie. Fellowship in Clinical Infectious Diseases founded by Prof G. N Lule and currently headed by Dr. M.C Maritim and Fellowship in Medical Oncology founded by Prof N.A Abinya currently headed by Dr. A Odhiambo. These programs have both graduated more that 10 super-specialists in their fields who have contributed to improved patient care, policy development and research in the country.
